Associate Counsel The candidate will be responsible to provide direct legal counsel and subject matter expertise for multiple routine functional areas, and one or more complex functional areas. Functional areas include a broad range of legal areas affecting company’s services and operations such as antitrust, tax, employment law, physician practice acquisitions; hospital operational support; health care risk management; clinical-related issues; regulatory compliance; medical staff and accreditation; clinical affiliation agreements; managed care contracting; real estate and construction; and health care reform and reimbursement. Provides oversight of selected outside counsel or consultants as well as legal externs, Staff Attorneys and Assistant Counsel. Provides complex legal analysis and recommendations for strategies and approaches directly to clients and to more senior counsel within the legal department. Must have Doctorate of Jurisprudence. Membership in the Arkansas, Missouri or Oklahoma Bar or eligibility for immediate admission requried. Should have 5+ years of experience as a practicing attorney with 3+ years of health care experience and specialized experience in one of more of the following areas: antitrust, tax, employment law, physician practice acquisitions; hospital operational support; health care risk management; clinical-related issues; regulatory compliance; medical staff and accreditation; clinical affiliation agreements; managed care contracting; real estate and construction; and health care reform and reimbursement.
