Paralegal The candidate assists Operations Counsel with preparation and review of standard real estate documents. Assists Operations Counsel with managing and corresponding with outside counsel and with various research projects. Serves as primary point of contact for both internal and external constituencies. Manages and tracks budget and expenses. Assists Operations Counsel with all aspects of transactional matters, including real estate, corporate governance and other related transactions and agreements, with primary responsibility for: coordinating due diligence, reviewing title commitments, legal descriptions, surveys and closing statements, negotiating title exceptions and clearing title issues, ordering and reviewing judgment/lien/bankruptcy searches and good standing certifications, preparing ancillary transactional and governance documents, including deeds, affidavits, secretary’s certificates and bills of sale, managing transaction closings, escrow, document recording and funding, organizing and maintaining deal files, closing checklists and closing binders, and following up on and organizing post-closing items, including recorded documents, holdbacks and indemnities. Manages all phases of the transactional process and coordinating with internal and external team members. Interacts with others through verbal and non-verbal means to present information in an engaging and understandable manner. Other duties as assigned. Must have four year degree business or related field or equivalent education and related experience. Paralegal certificate from ABA-approved paralegal school is preferred. Must have 7+ years of experience supporting attorneys working in a corporate legal department or law firm. Should have excellent verbal and written communication skills. Demonstrated appreciation for the proper of handling sensitive and confidential information is required. Should be proficient in Microsoft Office software applications (i.e., Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint), Concur, SharePoint.
