Government Investigations Paralegal The candidate will be responsible for independently managing aspects of the company's responses to government investigations. Partners with internal and external counsel to prepare responses to subpoenas, civil investigative demands, and other requests relating to government investigations. Produces information in a timely and organized manner to outside counsel or third parties to meet production deadlines. Partners with, and communicates clearly and effectively with, document custodians to understand where responsive information is being stored and collects and tracks information in a proper manner. Demonstrates knowledge of electronic discovery applications. Manages communications, metrics, and reports for the Government Investigations Team. Tracks and monitors legal holds and custodians across broad range of matters. Acts as liaison between legal technology, electronic discovery, IT Support, service providers, outside counsel, and other team members. Maintains strong working relationships with engaged service providers. Identifies, and oversees the team's use of, software tools or products to manage cases, drive efficiencies, memorialize investigative steps, and maintain relevant work product. Creates PowerPoint and other summary documents for both internal and external presentations. Responsible for discovering inefficiencies in process and/or team performance and working proactively to create effective processes and improve team performance. Maintains and proactively develops the team's internal policies and procedures. Demonstrates dedication to continuous process improvement and creation of efficiencies. Facilitates tracking of outside counsel spend. Conducts factual research regarding investigatory matters. Consistently exercises independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance. Regular, consistent, and punctual attendance. Must be reachable and able to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) as necessary. Other duties and responsibilities as assigned. Should have 1-6 years of related experience in a corporate, government, or law firm environment. Bachelor's Degree required. Must have proficiency with case management software. eDiscovery experience is a plus.
