The candidate's duties will include but would not be limited to: Provide department support by drafting correspondence, memoranda and other legal documents (i.e. pleadings, briefs, closing documents, discovery shells), submitting same for review, revising, redlining, comparing, proofreading, assembling, photocopying, and distributing final material as necessary. Prepare files and/or binders for hearings, depositions, meetings, and trial. Manage document databases and coordinate electronic discovery proceedings. Assist with client engagement and retention, including preparation of engagement letter, conflict check, conflict waivers, submitting information to open matters in the Firm’s systems. Establish and maintain paper and electronic client and administrative files in compliance with current Firm policies. Prepare and submit expense reports. Enter daily attorney time and work closely with assigned timekeeper and billing coordinator to prepare billings for submission to the accounting department and forwarding monthly invoices to clients. Must have 7 years’ experience as a litigation secretary. Should have strong Word Processing skills and exceptional grammar, spelling and proofreading skills; Should have fundamental knowledge of legal terminology, court rules and procedures. Should have practical knowledge of client billing.
