Personal Injury Legal Assistant Duties: Calendar deadlines and making sure they are met. Assist attorneys with administrative tasks. Check court rules and civil procedure to ensure compliance. Process mail. Draft templates for letters, pleadings, motions, and discovery. Edit, format, and finalize MS Word documents. File documents in court. Order and subpoena medical records, CHP reports, employment records. Schedule depositions, court hearings, client meetings. Understand how personal injury cases progress and plan ahead. Assist in responding and drafting discovery. Assist in trial preparation.

Qualification and Experience

Candidate must have worked in a fast-paced personal injury law firm that tries large cases; has 3+ years of experience, thinks outside the box, keeps attorneys organized, is detail-oriented, can work independently, is articulate, and has a good attitude. High proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Adobe Acrobat is required. Experience calculating medical specials and dealing with Medicare, MediCal, and private insurance carriers is a plus.
