Legal Counsel, Director of Professional Development
The candidate will report to the Vice President of Blackstone Alumni Services and are responsible for managing a professional development team that will help maximize the career trajectories of Blackstone Fellows. Will be responsible to foster and develop relationships with professionals within the legal and business communities to create affinity with ADF and to expand and deepen the Team’s professional network, all to ultimately increase strategic employment opportunities for Blackstone Fellows. Lead, manage, and expand our career services program that includes application materials review, mock interviews, and professional introductions, as well as identifying and filling strategic positions in the legal and business communities. Design and execute training programs for Blackstone Interns and Fellows to maximize their competitiveness for securing targeted positions within the legal and business communities. Design and execute events to develop relationships with and engage key professionals in the legal and business communities. Assist with tracking the career progress of 1800+ alumni and building community among alumni with reunion events, newsletters, and a secure, professional website. Collaboratively work with the team to ensure that the professional development staff is meeting the needs of both internal team members, Blackstone Fellows and employers who are seeking Blackstone Fellows as prospective employees. Travel to and speak at conferences to increase visibility and communicate the vision of both ADF and the firm Advancement Team. Help contribute to the development and execution of the Blackstone Alumni Services team’s vision and strategy. Work on special projects with the Senior Vice President of firm Advancement and the Vice President of Blackstone Alumni Services as assigned.

Qualification and Experience

The candidate must have Juris Doctorate degree. 5+ years of experience in the legal profession, with judicial clerkship and law firm experience preferred. Blackstone Fellow preferred. Should have industry knowledge of legal profession, Advanced knowledge of organization's policies, standards and procedures guiding ADF Brand is essential. Proficiency in: communication skills, both written and oral; Interpersonal and networking skills; Project management
