Job Overview:
A leading law firm is seeking a Mid-Level Patent Litigation Associate with 3-6 years of experience to join its Intellectual Property practice group. This is an excellent opportunity for candidates with experience in patent litigation, including research, drafting discovery responses and requests, and motions practice. Ideal candidates will have a technical background in computer science, electrical engineering, or computer engineering. Strong academic credentials and the ability to develop strong relationships with clients and colleagues in a collaborative environment are essential for success in this role.

Duties:

  • Conduct legal research and provide analysis on patent litigation cases.
  • Draft and respond to discovery requests, motions, and other legal documents.
  • Prepare case filings and manage other litigation-related documentation.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys on case strategy and litigation planning.
  • Maintain regular communication with clients, providing case updates and legal advice.
  • Assist in trial preparation, including organizing evidence and preparing witnesses.
  • Manage day-to-day responsibilities of ongoing patent litigation matters.

Requirements:

  • 3-6 years of experience in patent litigation.
  • Strong knowledge of patent law and litigation procedures.
  • Experience in drafting motions, discovery responses, and requests.
  • Ability to handle multiple cases and meet deadlines efficiently.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to build and maintain client relationships.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the Bar in the relevant state(s).

Skills:

  • Technical background in computer science, electrical engineering, or computer engineering (preferred).
  • Expertise in patent litigation and intellectual property law.
  • Strong legal research and writing skills.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
