Job Overview: A law firm located in Roseville, CA, is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Associate Attorney to join its family law team. The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for family law, excellent communication and analytical skills, and a desire to advocate for clients' best interests. While prior family law experience is preferred, candidates with limited or no experience will also be considered for the right fit. This full-time role offers the opportunity for hands-on experience with client cases, support from senior attorneys, and the potential for career growth within the firm.

Location:

Duties:

  • Build and maintain positive, collaborative relationships with clients, colleagues, and courts.
  • Provide legal solutions to clients' family law issues and communicate options effectively and empathetically.
  • Research case law, draft legal correspondence, pleadings, and file necessary documents.
  • Represent clients at hearings, depositions, and trials.
  • Consult with potential clients and retain new clients.
  • Manage, train, and work with paralegals and legal assistants.
  • Ensure accurate calendaring of hearings, filing deadlines, and other key dates.
  • Collaborate with the managing attorney to develop skills and take on more complex legal matters.
  • Utilize legal technology platforms, including Clio, Lawyaw, DissoMaster, Lexis, Word, and Excel, to generate work product and records.
  • Bilingual or Spanish proficiency is preferred.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
  • Membership in good standing with the California State Bar.
  • Ability to attend in-person hearings and trials in Sacramento and Placer Counties.
  • Strong writing, analytical, and oral argument skills.
  • High integrity, sound judgment, and a strong work ethic.
  • Ability to establish positive relationships with clients and colleagues.
  • Knowledge and familiarity with family law concepts.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Bilingual (Spanish) is a plus.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, client-focused environment.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • California State Bar membership (required).

Skills:

  • Strong communication and client relations skills.
  • Ability to draft legal documents and pleadings.
  • Familiarity with family law and litigation.
  • Proficient in using legal technology (Clio, Lawyaw, DissoMaster, Lexis, Word, Excel).
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with a team.
  • Bilingual in Spanish is preferred but not required.
