Intellectual Property Legal Assistant Trainee Responsibilities: Type correspondence, reports, text and other written material from rough drafts, corrected copies, voice recordings, dictation or previous versions, using a computer. Adjust document settings for format, page layout, line spacing, and other style requirements. Print and make copies of work. Address envelopes or prepare envelope labels, using a computer. File and store completed documents on computer system. Update office databases. Understanding and maintaining prosecution files. Use data entry devices, such as optical scanners, to input data into computers for revision or editing.
Qualification and Experience
Qualifications: Knowledge and experience using Microsoft Office Products. Excellent customer service skills. General clerical skills. Ability to meet deadlines (internal and client). A self-starter who will seek out opportunities to help/support whenever possible. Ability to work within a team environment. A plus: Familiarity with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office databases (esp. PAIR). Some knowledge of obtaining patent copies from the internet (using sites such as Google Patents). Knowledge of how to run status reports. Strong organizational and communication skills, an ability to follow detailed directions, and a desire to produce quality work products.
