Litigation Legal Assistant Duties: Support up to 4 attorneys on busy Commercial Litigation practice area team who works with clients to develop efficient and cost-effective business solutions to fit clients needs in all aspects of commercial litigation. Performing secretarial duties utilizing legal terminology, procedures, and documents. Preparing legal papers and correspondence, such as summonses, complaints, motions, and subpoenas. Coordinating and managing routine administrative work, such as opening matters, maintaining electronic and physical files, scheduling meetings, making travel arrangements, preparing expense reports, and time and data entry. May also assist with legal research, as needed.
Qualification and Experience
Qualifications: 3-5 years of litigation legal experience required. Business litigation experience preferred. Experience supporting clients in matters involving construction disputes, employment law, general commercial law and real estate litigation. Experience with state and federal court filing is required. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite including Word and Outlook, Uses Nuance pdf Converter, Adobe Pro/Reader, WorkSite/FileSite document management system, and Westlaw so proficiency with these programs is preferred or experience with similar legal programs required. Superior organizational skills, display great attention to detail, possess professional client interaction skills, and be able to prioritize multiple assignments while meeting last minute deadlines.
