A law firm located in Madison, WI, is seeking an experienced Lateral Transactional Attorney with a strong background in trust and estate planning, probate, contracts, corporate, and business law. The ideal candidate will have a substantial book of business and experience in public utilities and telecommunications law, which would be considered a plus. The successful candidate will demonstrate a proven ability to work efficiently with clients and meet their expectations. Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and oversee transactional matters related to trust and estate planning, probate, contracts, corporate, and business law.
  • Develop and maintain a substantial book of business, leveraging existing client relationships and cultivating new ones.
  • Provide legal advice and strategic planning for clients in areas of trust, estate, and corporate matters.
  • Draft and negotiate complex contracts and business agreements.
  • Handle public utilities and telecommunications law issues, if applicable.
  • Communicate effectively with clients to understand their needs and deliver high-quality legal services.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and colleagues.
  • Stay updated on legal developments and industry trends to provide informed and effective counsel.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in transactional law, with a focus on trust and estate planning, probate, contracts, corporate, and business law.
  • A substantial book of business and a proven track record of client management.
  • Experience in public utilities and telecommunications law is beneficial.
  • Demonstrated ability to work efficiently with clients and meet their expectations.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build and maintain relationships.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active bar membership in the state of Wisconsin.
