Employee Relations Manager
The candidate lead several proactive initiatives to support commitment of creating a positive, fair and respectful working environment. Responsibilities will include: Lead large scale projects that improve the associate experience. Partner and influence senior leaders when necessary to ensure a positive associate experience. Partner with senior leaders and HR teams to create and sustain positive employee relations programs and best practices tailored to business needs. Design and conduct multiple positive labor relations trainings and communications. Design, collect, and analyze multiple levels of associate feedback. Conduct employee relations and vulnerability assessment programs. Partner to engage in continuous improvement in communication vehicles and practices. Analyze, diagnose, design, and revise people programs, policies, and practices to sustain positive employee relations across multiple business formats. Also work reactively on critical employee relations issues that are crisis-oriented and typically can only be successfully completed with limited time. Balancing time between projects and crisis-response is a critical component for success in the position. This role will provide support to end-to-end response efforts as necessary to reactively solve critical employee relations issues for sites, with particular focus on high risk locations. Travel up to 20% of the time as needed.

Qualification and Experience

A Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree, JD, or other specialized training in labor/employee relations a significant plus. Should have 7 years direct experience in employee relations, labor relations, or labor/employment law with an emphasis on labor and employee relations work, Experience in Retail, Grocery; experience in unionized environments a significant plus. Must have solid understanding of federal and state employment & labor laws. Should have experience in designing and delivering successful training programs. Must be technically proficient in MS Word, Excel, Access, & PowerPoint.
