Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provide legal counsel on state and federal privacy laws and regulatory compliance.
• Advise on data protection, management, and security, including the creation and analysis of data flows and data maps.
• Handle incident response related to data breaches or security issues.
• Draft and negotiate commercial contracts, ensuring they meet privacy and security requirements.
• Collaborate with lawyers and non-lawyers within the firm and with external clients and partners.
• Stay updated on relevant legal and technological data privacy and security developments.
• Assist in developing and implementing privacy policies and procedures for clients.
• Conduct legal research and analysis to support client needs and firm objectives.
• Provide training and guidance on data privacy and security issues to clients and internal staff.

Requirements:

• 5 years of experience in data privacy and security law, focusing on healthcare preferred.
• Proven track record in drafting and negotiating commercial contracts.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams.
• Demonstrated expertise in state and federal privacy laws and regulatory compliance.
• Experience with data protection, management, and incident response.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Licensed to practice law in Indiana.
