A law firm seeks a skilled Labor & Employment Associate Attorney for its Orlando office. This position requires 3-5 years of experience in handling employment-related legal matters, including Title VII, FMLA, ADA, FLSA, and state counterpart litigation. The ideal candidate should be a strong writer with experience in both federal and state court, including EEOC and other regulatory agencies. The successful candidate will be able to manage cases independently, with minimal supervision, and demonstrate flexibility and a strong desire to learn.

Duties:

  • Handle a diverse caseload involving employment law matters, including discrimination, harassment, family leave, wage and hour disputes, and other workplace issues.
  • Litigate cases in both federal and state courts, as well as before the EEOC and other relevant federal and state agencies.
  • Manage day-to-day case responsibilities, including drafting motions, conducting discovery, and preparing for hearings and trials.
  • Provide legal counsel to clients regarding compliance with federal and state employment laws.
  • Independently run cases with minimal supervision while maintaining attention to detail and quality.
  • Be adaptable and willing to pivot as case demands evolve, ensuring a client-centered approach.

Requirements:

  • 3-5 years of experience in employment law, with a focus on litigation.
  • Proficiency in handling matters related to Title VII, FMLA, ADA, FLSA, and similar state-level regulations.
  • Strong writing, research, and communication skills.
  • Experience managing cases in federal and state court, including interaction with agencies such as the EEOC.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and maintain an organized caseload.
  • Motivated to continuously learn and stay updated on changes in employment law.
  • Florida Bar admission is required.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the Florida Bar in good standing.

Skills:

  • Excellent legal writing and analytical skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of federal and state employment laws and regulations.
  • Experience in discovery and motion practice.
  • Ability to manage complex litigation and independently run cases.
