ProfileFHA Closing Assistant/Closer Duties: Reporting to a Director/FHA Transaction Manager, will be responsible for many aspects of closing an FHA loan. Coordinating legal due diligence, preparing commitments, preparing the loan for rate lock, coordinating the closing and delivery/settlement, including preparation of various documents and related agreements, and effectuating the transition of the loan from the closing group to the servicing and asset management team in a timely and accurate manner. Participate in regular pipeline calls as well as separate conference calls to discuss deal points or status. Work in concert with underwriting and origination teams to insure a smooth, seamless closing for clients. Set up and run closing calls with originator, underwriter, lender counsel, borrower and borrower counsel. Prepare and distribute rate lock commitment for comment. Together with underwriting, origination and legal, identify who is responsible for the firm commitment special conditions. Confirm all items required for rate lock have been cleared and communicate with lender counsel upon rate lock. Order funds for MIP and inspection fee through pay.gov. When required, prepare HUD Short Form Cost Certification with backup. Prepare initial draw for construction loans. Work with lender counsel, HUD closing manager and HUD attorney to determine reasonable closing date. Download and prepare closing workbooks. Prepare and submit warehousing package to assure timeliness of funding. Prepare and submit Ginnie Mae initial pool package, final pool package and interim construction loan certificates. Confirm lender counsel has uploaded the final closing documents to be made available to servicing and complete a servicing questionnaire. Provide high quality customer service by delivering prompt and accurate information and responses in a timely manner.
Qualification and Experience
Qualifications: Paralegal certificate and/or Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university. 3-5 years in a similar position or other relevant FHA work experience required. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Excellent organizational skills. Excellent verbal and written skills. Strong computer skills and proficiency with MS Office applications. Works well and stays focused under pressure with, set time deadlines, and changing priorities. Ability to contribute individually as well as part of a team environment. Requires a self-motivated, team player who pays close attention to detail and must be able to adapt to a fast-paced environment and effectively manage a high-volume case load. Strong time management, prioritization, organization skills, attention to detail and excellent follow through to resolve any outstanding issues. Ability to analyze/interpret data and take appropriate action. Excellent people skills; demonstrated success in building and maintaining strong internal and external relationships. While working in an independent and reliable manner, teamwork and effective communication will also be necessary for success.
