ProfileCivil Litigation Paralegal The candidate will provide administrative support to the Section Chief and litigation/paralegal support to General Civil Litigation and Employment Units as needed, including case management, the preparation, citation checking and filing in federal and state courts of legal memoranda as well as management of document discovery. Perform minor legal research using online legal research tools. Review and approve outside counsel invoices, communicate with the Department or Risk Management on a frequent basis and track outside counsel assignments.
Qualification and Experience
The candidate must have a Bachelor’s degree in related field. Paralegal certificate is preferred. Must have 5+ years of litigation paralegal experience. Should have knowledge of legal terminology, court procedures and case management systems. A solid working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and cite-checking, and legal search engines is required.
