Profile

Legal Assistant The candidate will work directly with attorneys to prepare for upcoming cases, get involved in fact-finding projects and be responsible for maintaining case files. Job Duties: Answering the phone and greeting clients. Draft pleadings, motions and file them with the court. Candidates should be familiar with Oregon State Court E-File system. Perform administrative duties (calendar hearings and deadlines, organize case files, manage logistics etc). Maintain pleadings and discovery indexes. Organize exhibits, documents, evidence, etc. Aid attorneys with interrogatories and other discovery requests. Provide assistance with case settlements. Transcribe attorney dictations.

Qualification and Experience

An experience in the legal field is also preferred. Should have excellent communication and organization abilities. Must have experience working with practice management software (example CLIO). Must be comfortable working with clients and opposing counsel directly. Should have strong computer skills - Comfortable working with Wordperfect, Word, Excel, etc.
