Paralegal, Intellectual Property
The candidate will manage worldwide trademark filing programs, including prosecution, maintenance, renewals, and enforcement. Supervise foreign counsel on clearance, prosecution, and enforcement matters. Conduct and analyze clearances searches, including trademarks, titles, and editorial. Research and gather evidence for enforcement matters and records. Draft correspondence and documentation, including cease and desist letters, affidavits/declarations, agreements, powers of attorney, and chain-of-title documents. Work closely with business groups on trademark prosecution and enforcement matters. Collaborate with the department to discuss issues and propose solutions to enhance practice. Handle invoices, prepare reports and assist the department with other projects as assigned.
Qualification and ExperienceThe candidate should have a Paralegal certificate or meet the paralegal requirements under California Business and Professions Code 6450. Should have 3+ years of experience as a paralegal with trademark or intellectual property experience. Should have experience with Anaqua or similar trademark docketing systems, and SAEGIS or similar trademark platforms experience. Experience handling confidential and sensitive material. Must be proficient with Microsoft Office applications (e.g., Outlook, Excel, and Word), familiarity with domestic and foreign trademark practice and procedures. Must be willing to work in Universal City, CA. Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States. Must have excellent oral and written communication skills, strong research and analytical skills. Must have the ability to work independently and collaboratively as a team player, exceptional organizational skills with the ability to effectively prioritize high-volume workload. Must have excellent analytical skills with strong attention to detail, initiative to achieve results and measure performance, and willingness to learn and develop skills to enhance practice.
