Legal and Compliance Specialist The candidate will prepare legal documents, such as contracts, deeds, and trust instruments for legal counsel review; Review mortgage closing document packages for accuracy and compliance with state and Federal laws. Monitor state and Federal laws and regulations for changes, disseminate pertinent information to peers, and ensure affected documents and packages are properly managed and updated; Research and analyze for necessary additions or changes to company policies and procedures, to ensure they are in compliance with applicable state and Federal laws and regulations; Research and analyze legal sources, such as statutes, regulations, recorded judicial decisions, legal articles, treaties, constitutions, and legal codes to support clients and business operations; Maintain document files and document library; File correspondence and legal documents into office filing system; Establish and monitor ongoing programs to ensure compliance with state and Federal laws and regulations; Research and coordinate responses to customer inquiries received from Client Support, Product Managers, and other staff members. Coordinate responses with Legal Counsel when necessary; and Assist in any additional projects, when needed. Bachelor's degree, paralegal certification, or 1-2 years of related experience is required. Experience as a paralegal or attorney within the mortgage industry is preferred.
