Paralegal-Administration Duties: To provide legal support by assisting the Legal Department attorneys in drafting contracts and legal documents, conducting legal research and maintaining the Legal Department contract database. Prepares business transaction documents, policies and related documents for review by and conducts follow-up as directed by Legal Department attorneys. Updates generic template contracts as directed by Legal Department attorneys. Prepares verbal and written communications regarding Sparrow legal or policy matters within scope of responsibility or for Legal Department attorney review. Communicates directly with Health System leaders, physicians, external legal counsel and others regarding legal or policy matters as directed by Legal Department attorneys. Reviews incoming material and correspondence and independently prepares response for review by Legal Department attorneys. Conducts legal research. Establishes and maintains legal files. Assist with the maintenance of the Legal Department contract database. Performs general clerical and administrative functions as requested.
Qualification and Experience
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in any field or an Associate's Degree in a paralegal studies program with paralegal certification. 5+ years of experience as a corporate paralegal in the healthcare industry or in a law firm with specific experience in health care transactions. Ability to draft and interpret legal documents. Knowledge of contract, business and health care Law. Ability to research state and federal law and regulations. Ability to pay attention to detail. Strong organizational skills. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal. Ability to deliver highest quality work in a high volume, fast paced office environment. High level of discretion and confidentiality. Typing skills of 55wpm required. Advanced computer skills including Lexis, Westlaw, Access, Words, Excel, PowerPoint.
