ProfileCorporate Litigation Paralegal The candidate will be responsible for providing paralegal support and working with attorneys on a variety of litigation matters, including class action and other complex lawsuits, as well as other disputes filed in federal and state courts and with various governmental agencies. Working in the Corporate Litigation and Employment Practice Group within Corporate Law Department. Prepares memos, briefs and documents for review and evaluation by others. Draft chronologies, review and summarize records, etc. Maintains and updates legal databases/SharePoint sites as applicable. Performs occasional complex legal research (example: using PACER to check dockets; using Westlaw or other legal research tools to pull cases). May index, catalog, scan and photocopy when necessary. Create and manage preservation orders. Responsible for working with the attorneys to prepare cases for discovery, motion practice and trial; maintaining our case management database; preserving, collecting and organizing document/data productions; facilitating discovery (including eDiscovery); identifying, researching and summarizing factual data; creating and maintaining calendars; preparing relevant reports and documents for attorney review and attending business meetings and depositions. Partner with the attorneys on all aspects of case management, including strategy and outside counsel management. Interface directly and indirectly with outside counsel, courts and government agencies, all under the thoughtful guidance of our senior paralegal managers and litigating attorneys in a work environment that rewards teamwork.
Qualification and Experience
The candidate must have Bachelor's degree or Paralegal certificate and 2 years related work experience in a legal environment. In lieu of a degree or Paralegal certificate, 4 years paralegal-level work experience. Should have strong familiarity with all aspects of the litigation process and solid knowledge of legal terminology. Ability to operate a personal computer with a good working knowledge of the following software, applications: Microsoft Word, Excel, SharePoint and PowerPoint is needed.
