Duties:

  • Document Preparation: Prepare and review key legal documents, including purchase agreements, title documents, deeds, and closing statements, to ensure accuracy and legal compliance.
  • Title Examination: Conduct detailed title examinations, identify discrepancies, and resolve issues to provide clients with a clear and marketable title.
  • Due Diligence: Perform comprehensive due diligence on transaction properties, examining surveys, zoning regulations, property taxes, and environmental reports to identify potential risks.
  • Client Communication: Serve as the primary contact for clients, real estate agents, lenders, and other involved parties, providing clarity on legal aspects and status updates throughout the transaction.
  • Compliance Monitoring: Stay informed of changes in real estate laws and industry standards to ensure all transactions are compliant with legal requirements.
  • Problem Resolution: Identify and address any issues or disputes that may arise during the closing process, working efficiently to minimize delays.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with paralegals and other team members on title reviews, document preparation, and transaction details to ensure successful outcomes.

Requirements:

  • Legal Experience: Minimum of 1-year practicing real estate law, with a specific focus on closings and real estate transactions.
  • Real Estate Knowledge: Proficiency in real estate transactional work, including contract drafting, title examination, and resolving title issues.
  • Detail-oriented: Strong analytical and detail-focused approach to reviewing complex legal documents.
  • Communication Skills: Exceptional communication and negotiation skills with an ability to build rapport and collaborate effectively.
  • Time Management: Ability to prioritize and manage multiple cases in a fast-paced setting while maintaining high accuracy.
  • Ethics: Commitment to upholding client confidentiality and professional ethical standards.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the state bar and active good standing.

Certifications:

  • Active state bar membership.

Skills:

  • Analytical Skills: Ability to assess complex legal documents and identify potential risks.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Strong negotiation and client communication abilities.
