Docket Specialist The candidate will monitor all court filings to extract sensitive critical dates and modify dates with explanatory text when necessary to supplement CompuLaw automated rule-set information. Will record documents with critical dates in CompuLaw Vision Docketing System and calculate procedural due dates based upon applicable rules and statutes. Review court notifications to update future events in CompuLaw. Request intake forms and open new cases in CompuLaw. Work with vendors to obtain court files and other litigation-related support documents. Synching documents with the corresponding docket entries in CompuLaw. Prepare weekly and bi-weekly calendar reports and provide daily reminders to attorneys of upcoming appearances. Must have 2+years of experience as a general litigation calendar or docket clerk or as a paralegal, legal assistant or legal support role with docket responsibilities. Combination of college level training or paralegal certificate along with experience that demonstrates an ability to do the essential functions of the position. Should have knowledge of CompuLaw (or similar docketing software), Pacer, Lexis-Nexis, CourtLink, Westlaw and MS Office. Should have the ability to rely on knowledge of federal, state and local rules of procedure and practice, to ensure that all deadlines reflected in court filings are accurately recorded and incorporate any client requirements into case management calendars.
