Profile

Legal Assistant Duties: Scheduling court appearances & depositions. Drafting of letters and email correspondence. Creating and maintaining files and indexes. Maintaining attorney’s calendar of appointments as well as reminders. Telephone correspondence with opposing counsel and court clerks. Scanning documents to maintain electronic version of file. Preparing attorney-client contracts. Emailing and calling clients to obtain or provide information.

Qualification and Experience

Qualifications: Associate Arts Degree (“AA”) or Bachelor’s Degree preferred. Certified Notary Public is a plus. Independent resourcefulness and problem-solving capabilities. Strong organizational skills. Proficiency with drafting and editing correspondence. Strong communicator with professional and pleasant phone skills. Computer competency and knowledge of WordPerfect, Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel. Prior law firm experience is preferred. Must be motivated, organized, a quick learner, able to communicate effectively and professionally with sophisticated clients, and be willing to take direction from attorneys.
