ProfileSenior Paralegal The candidate will conduct factual and legal research and provide written analyses to address issues pertaining to the Section’s rule making, coordination, or technical assistance responsibilities. Perform complex legal research. Synopsis transcripts of hearings and oral arguments for attorney use. Review case related materials and identifies potentially conflicting statements or areas requiring further investigation. Write preliminary drafts of legal memoranda and correspondence. May require travel for trial support. Expected to become very familiar Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the Civil Rights Act of 1991, the Rehabilitation Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act, and Americans with Disabilities Act Amendments Act of 2008. Must be a US Citizen and able to successfully complete a background investigation is needed. Writing must be logical, persuasive and sufficiently thorough so as to leave the reader with the firm feeling that the correct decision has been reached. Requires sound working knowledge of federal and state court systems, legal research procedures and legal resources. Requires excellent writing skills and thorough knowledge of legal research tools such as Lexis, Westlaw. Previous experience working with federal civil rights statutes is needed. Should preferably have JD degree. Must have extensive litigation support experience coupled with Paralegal certificate.
