A law firm in Atlanta, GA, seeks a talented Defense Litigation Associate Attorney to join their team handling professional liability, general liability, and commercial coverage cases. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with seasoned attorneys across various subject areas, providing a broad and challenging experience for a motivated attorney.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Analyze and summarize legal documents related to defense litigation cases.
• Conduct thorough legal and factual research on people, businesses, and worksites.
• Evaluate cases and develop strategic defense plans in collaboration with senior attorneys.
• Conduct client meetings, provide legal counsel, and recommend effective litigation strategies.
• Investigate facts, plan, prepare, and conduct depositions of witnesses and corporate representatives.
• Prepare and argue motions, conduct hearings, and participate in mediations.
• Brief cases for trial and appellate courts, including writing defense mediation summaries.
• Utilize critical thinking and research skills to anticipate legal issues and formulate effective arguments.
• Maintain active licensure and good standing with the State Bar of Georgia.
• Demonstrate strong writing, analytical, and communication skills with meticulous attention to detail.

Requirements:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
• Admission to the State Bar of Georgia; additional bar admissions are advantageous.
• 2-5 years of experience in defense litigation, preferably with solid insurance defense experience.
• Experience in professional liability and/or coverage litigation is a significant plus.
• Proven ability to manage a caseload independently and work effectively under deadlines.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate within a team and interface confidently with clients.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks efficiently.
