Corporate Counsel The candidate will be responsible for providing support to the companyâ€™s General Counsel in a variety of legal and compliance related activities. This position will work closely with the Companyâ€™s business units in a cross-functional capacity to minimize risk, ensure best practices and support growth. Work in partnership with the companyâ€™s operational areas, including marketing sales, business development, technology, etc., to provide counsel and advice on legal and legal issues with goal of fostering compliance, minimizing risk and facilitating growth within the company. Negotiate, review and prepare various commercial product and services related agreements. Review and prepare various customer-facing standardized notices and ad hoc correspondence. Assist in the management of general liability litigation and claims including managing outside counsel, discovery and other functions. Support compliance-related functions throughout the company, including local, state and federal regulatory compliance efforts. Provide training to business unit leaders on legal and compliance related initiatives. Perform all other duties as assigned by the General Counsel and by management.
Qualification and Experience
The candidate should have Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree and minimum related experience working in a law firm or corporate legal department. Must have License to practice law in active good standing in any state in the U.S. Should have excellent organizational skills with high attention to detail. Must have exceptional oral and written communication skills. Demonstrated legal research, analysis and technical writing skills are needed. Should have strong interpersonal skills: a self-starter willing to invest the time necessary to learn our business and a team player who works effectively with others at all levels and disciplines with high ethics. Proficiency in using a variety of computer software applications, particularly Microsoft Word, Excel and other Microsoft Office Products, required. Should have ability to handle professionally highly sensitive and confidential information and situations. Must have demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, balance competing objectives, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
