In House Counsel - Jivan Capital - Family Office
The candidate will advise on legal ramifications of investments and investment structures, coordinating the oversight and preparation of transactional documentation including limited partner agreements, subscription documents, engagement letters, purchase, and sale agreements, etc. Legal engagement, advice, and support to individual family members including business transactions such as real estate purchase and sale contracts, leases, powers of attorney, consent agreements, non-disclosure agreements, and other matters as requested. Governance management and family office compliance support including advising on Private Trust Company fiduciary responsibilities and compliance, insurance coverages, policies and procedures, documentation and compliance/regulatory standards management, and preparation of presentations for the President, Family members, and others. Actively manage third-party legal relationships. Evaluate and analyze current legal and compliance operations to identify risks, cost controls, and process enhancements. Partner with other departments of the Family Office on governance risk assessments, policies and procedures, labor and employee legal issues, litigation, family law, and disputes resolutions. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualification and Experience

The candidate should have a Juris Doctorate degree from an ABA-accredited law school, and State Bar membership in good standing. LLM in Taxation is a plus. Should have 3+ years of prior relevant professional experience. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills. Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines. Process-oriented, with attention to detail and the ability to prioritize. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and independently on difficult projects with minimal supervision. Ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality/discretion. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
