Litigation - Workers Compensation

Workers’ Compensation Hearing Representative The candidate will provide legal support to attorneys and professionals on litigation, corporate or business matters. Updates/posts ACES OR BOCOMP with all relevant work completed on a file. Respond to court calendar calls, or workers compensation Boards to resolve disputes. May negotiate settlements at workers compensation boards. Acts as liaison between workers compensation board and claims. May arrange payment plans with policyholders to recover monies owed. Prepare standard pleadings; drafts motions in higher court cases utilizing computer software. Handle investigations including locating witnesses and interviewing witnesses. Assist attorneys in trial preparation procedures.
Qualification and Experience
The candidate should have a Bachelors degree or equivalent experience required. Paralegal certificate preferred. Requires 1-3 years working experience as a Paralegal. Excellent oral and written communication skills to communicate effectively with attorneys, clients and policyholders. Must be able to exercise independent judgment. Must display effective use of Microsoft Word, Excel and corporate databases.
