Counsel – Strategy and Innovation The candidate will be responsible for advising and supporting one or more of Digital Health / Technology Hubs on a wide variety of issues concerning the development and implementation of novel digital applications and connected solutions related to its biopharmaceutical and device products. Will work closely with the cross functional team members at each Technology Hub, the broader legal department at Amgen, and report directly to the Head of the Strategy & Innovation Law group. Will counsel, in a fast paced environment, across a wide range of legal and regulatory issues, including but not limited to, FDA regulation of digital health products and medical devices, software, technology-related commercial transactions, co-development, privacy, security, and compliance.
Qualification and Experience
Qualifications: JD Degree or LL.M. degree from an ABA accredited law school, admission to practice law in a U.S. jurisdiction and 2 years of experience practicing Law. Preferred: 5+ years of experience as an attorney in a large law firm, biopharmaceutical company, or in a technology company practicing law related to biotechnology, pharmaceutical, digital health, medical device and/or healthcare. Should have experience counseling on FDA regulation of pharmaceutical and device products, including mobile medical applications, connected devices, clinical decision support software and other diagnostic solutions, combination and companion products. should be able to work independently and in teams to identify and advise on business and regulatory issues with important legal and/or compliance implications. Preferred: Strong interpersonal communications, and research and writing skills; ability to handle, prioritize and follow through on diverse issues on a timely basis; self-starter, resourceful and able to participate in a highly collaborative, cross-functional team-oriented environment; provide advice on time sensitive multidimensional projects; and guide business partners through complex, evolving business needs and industry advancements.
