Job Overview:
A leading law firm is currently seeking a Finance and Restructuring Associate to join its dynamic Finance & Restructuring practice group. This hybrid position is available across multiple office locations. The successful candidate will have 3 to 6 years of experience in corporate finance, including working with financial institutions and borrowers on commercial finance transactions. The role involves drafting and negotiating loan agreements, advising on covenant compliance, and managing due diligence efforts.

Location:

  • Fort Wayne, IN

Duties:

  • Draft and negotiate loan agreements, security agreements, intercreditor agreements, and related financial documents.
  • Advise clients on compliance with financial covenants and other financial regulations.
  • Lead and manage due diligence teams for commercial finance and real estate transactions.
  • Support clients in loan originations and restructurings, ensuring all transactions are completed efficiently.
  • Provide legal advice to financial institutions, corporations, and private credit entities.
  • Manage multiple assignments independently and meet project deadlines.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys and manage junior associates.

Requirements:

  • 3 to 6 years of experience in corporate finance or commercial finance.
  • Proven experience in drafting financial documents, including loan agreements and intercreditor agreements.
  • Ability to advise on covenant compliance and related financial regulations.
  • Strong experience in managing due diligence teams and other legal specialists.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple matters and work independently.
  • High-level attention to detail and ability to handle complex matters.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the state bar in the applicable office location.

Skills:

  • Strong legal writing and drafting skills, with experience in complex financial documents.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage time effectively and prioritize competing tasks.
  • Strong understanding of corporate finance, real estate financings, and loan transactions.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and legal research tools.
