Supervisory Paralegal
Duties: Supervise a team of 26 Law Clerks and review their timesheets for accuracy. Assign tasks to team members, in consultation with the Federal Attorney Team Leads and Project Manager. Assign claims to Claim Review Team for review. Track claim approval assignments to Federal attorneys. Track and follow-up on OIG fraud review requests and other fraud-related issues. Track tasks that other teams are working on for the attorney team . Track Federal Government Case Information Management System reports and condense data into usable format. Review VCF-wide production reports and pull out relevant data for the attorney team. Create a database consisting of attorney work product. Distribute Quality Review emails to claim review team, track responses, and ensure resolution of issues raised after the initial review of a claim. Collect, maintain, and distribute production-related data for Federal Attorney Team Leads and Project Manager using Microsoft Access including:. Attorney weekly production reports. Draft weekly, monthly, and yearly production statistics for purposes of reporting and review. Create PowerPoints for team meetings from agenda provided by Federal attorneys. Organize and maintain special project assignments. Organize and maintain example claims for various team discussions/meetings/trainings. Create templates for and format Standard Operating Procedures. Track changes and update internal and external guidance and policy documents. Update or create flow charts according to requirements/instructions. Maintain, update, and improve various internal charts and graphs. Track weekly reviewer production for staff. Provide Project Manager with assistance with monthly invoice preparation. Assist with onboarding/off boarding tasks for staff. Create, own, update, and maintain meeting and office hours Outlook calendar invites. Maintain various collaborative worksheets in Microsoft Office’s OneNote.

Qualification and Experience

Qualifications: Requires paralegal certificate or an equivalent level of legal training may be substituted with the approval of the COR. 3+ years of litigation paralegal experience, including 1+ year of experience in automated litigation support with supervisory experience, with proven capabilities and communication skills to successfully interact with clients and attorneys. Experience with claims management or tracking systems preferred. Demonstrated ability to oversee and coordinate numerous complex and time-critical claim support activities simultaneously, including technical/data processing support activities. In-depth knowledge of Access, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Excel, Word. Must be able to anticipate the needs of the project and develop and execute detailed plans for addressing needs required. Hands-on familiarity with the Government’s office and network environment, including, data processing environments, including office automation networks, PC-based databases and other applications, and internet and server-based databases and other applications required. Must be able to obtain a government security clearance. Highly skilled in coordinating across teams and with other Managers, Supervisors, team members, and clients.
