ProfileAssociate General Counsel Duties: Provide legal support and direction for the enterprise-wide contracting process by assisting in reviewing, drafting and negotiating a variety of contracts, providing regulatory review and support of contracts, providing education and training on the contracts management process, and providing legal support and guidance to the contracts management team. Draft, review, and finalize a variety of healthcare vendor transactions such as capital maintenance agreements, leases, software/hardware agreements, medical device equipment and supply purchases and pharmaceutical purchases and have experience with GPOs. Working knowledge of laws and regulations regarding health care transactional matters (e.g., Stark, Anti-Kickback, HIPAA, Tax-exempt and reimbursement) is expected.
Qualification and Experience
Qualifications: JD degree required. 3+ years of experience working with contracts with, 2+ years within a law firm or in-house with a hospital or health system law department. Must be a healthcare attorney with 3-5 years of experience who seeks the opportunity to work on sophisticated health law matters in a growing in-house environment located in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia. License to practice as attorney by the Commonwealth of Virginia. Must be able to work effectively with management and other members of the in-house legal department (5 attorneys and 1 administrative/executive assistant) as well as in conjunction with outside counsel. Must be a self-starter with a keen attention to detail who has the ability to work independently and meet deadlines with changing priorities.
