U.S. Pacific Fleet, Commander in Chief, GS 9 – 11 Duties: The candidate will serve as a Physical Security Specialist in the Security Office, Executive Support Staff, of PSNS and IMF, located in Everett, Washington. Will serve as a technical advisor on Physical Security rules, regulations, and procedures for PSNS and IMF, as well as tenant commands, ships force and contractor personnel. Certify Secure Rooms, Controlled Nuclear Industrial Areas (CNIA), Nuclear Work Areas (NWA), and provide written correspondence to the Navy Nuclear Propulsion Information Control Officer to establish these critical work areas. Inspect protective barriers, lighting, intrustion detection systems, and other access control systems to ensure they meet established requirements. Conduct surveys and prepare reports outlining deficiencies and take corrective action, or initiate and track steps needed to correct problem. Assist in the administration of the Automated Access Control System (AACS), monitor system status, identify problems, initiate and assist with corrective action. Assist in the administration of the Industrial Security Program and will be designated as a Contracting Officer's Security Representative (COSR).

Qualification and Experience

Qualifications: The candidate should have 1+ year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Analyzing and resolving difficult and complex security issues related to personnel access controls, physical protection devices, monitoring equipment, security forces, and remote alarm equipment. Should have successful completion of a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree
OR
Should have successful completion of three full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent degree.
OR
Should have successful completion of an LL.M. degree that is related to the position being filled
OR
Must have combination of experience and graduate education as described above that equates to one year of experience.

GS-09: Must have 1+year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Should have specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Analyzing and interpreting established security procedures and policies to assist in resolving difficult and complex security issues related to personnel access controls, physical protection devices, monitoring equipment, security forces, and remote alarm equipment.

Should have successful completion of a master's or equivalent graduate degree.
Or
Should have successful completion of two full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a master's degree.
Or
Must have obtained an LL.B. or J.D. that is related to the position being filled.
Or
Must have combination of experience and graduate education as described above that equates to one year of experience.
