Part - Time Prosecutor The candidate must have a Juris Doctor Degree from an accredited law school, be admitted to the New Hampshire Bar Association. A candidate for this position must have thorough knowledge of criminal code, motor vehicle code, juvenile code, Department of Motor Vehicles Rules and Regulations, Rules of Evidence, and District and Superior Court Rules; and the skill and ability to effectively prepare for and prosecute cases in a court of law. Position provides professional legal services to the City as City Prosecutor; work is highly responsible, involves reviewing and evaluating cases to determine whether or not there is enough evidence to go to trial, interpreting laws to determine how they apply to the case, recommend the sentence to be given upon conviction, gathering facts and information to prepare for a case, and prosecuting cases in court. The prosecutor shall generally advise and represent the Police Department in connection with criminal matters.
