Garnishment Legal Assistant Duties: Processing bank and place of employment garnishment answers. Will include processing garnishment answers, sorting mail and processing the return of service of bank and place of employment garnishments. Sort mail from bank and place of employment. Process different types of garnishment answers from third parties. Process paper and certified mailing of garnishments sent to bank and place of employment.
Qualification and Experience
Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent required. Associates degree or above preferred. Previous experience in the collection and / or legal industry, preferred. Ability to meet deadlines and perform tasks in a high-stress environment. Displays an ability to adjust quickly to varying priorities and maintains a positive attitude during change. Maintains a high degree of attention to detail in a fast-paced work environment. Practices a communication style of respect and accountability; owns mistakes without providing excuses. Ability to effectively communicate and troubleshoot complicated legal tasks. Consistently displays an enthusiasm for the Firm's goals and objectives; supports a culture of accountability, ownership, and honesty. Displays a desire to learn and is coachable; takes feedback well from a variety of sources. Exhibits a high standard of personal performance and excellence by completing assigned tasks quickly, correctly, and efficiently with minimal follow up from the Service and Filing Team Manager. Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel required.
