ProfilePart-time Staff Attorney The candidate will review, draft and negotiate contracts, including interacting with clients via phone or in person, developing compliance approach to mitigate legal risks, presenting options and explaining terms, and negotiating directly with external parties. Will provide general advice regarding contracts and agreements, such as analyzing and advising on legal and business risks associated with new product and/or services offerings. Advise internal and external clients with respect to company contract policies, use of form contracts, interpretation of contract terms, and other issues. Keep track of contracts and agreements. Develop and/or assist with drafting new contract templates and contractual processes. Review existing (and proposed) laws and regulations and understand how they may affect legal compliance and business needs. Assist with and/or conduct project management tasks. Commuting and working full time in to our Newton, MA headquarters. JD degree from U.S. law school and licensed to practice law in Mass; Active status in good standing is required. Should have 2+ years of prior legal experience; however, recent law school graduates with less experience. Experience in commercial contracts and solid contract drafting skills with a solid understanding of legal terms and contract formulation principles is required. Experience in working directly with existing and potential customers in both cooperative and potentially adversarial scenarios is needed. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and being able to write in a clear and concise manner is essential. Must have strong computer skills, including proficiency in Word and Excel is needed.
