Legal Assistant The candidate will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the attorneys assigned to, including carrying out administrative services and providing support to the legal team. Will complete administrative duties such as making copies, scanning, answering and directing phone calls. Calendar Management: Calendaring all court appearances, deadlines, appointments and remind attorneys of upcoming deadlines. Prepare captions and set up properly formatted template documents. Prepare Tables of Contents and Tables of Authorities. Prepare for filings, contact Janney or First Legal. Handle Expense Reimbursements, collect receipts, ask for the receipts and forward to accounting. Keep attorney’s cases organized—make sure conformed copies get saved on system, as well as all the drafts. Prepare oral argument binders, assist paralegals in preparing trial binders. Arrange travel and keep track of travel expenses. Must have exceptional organizational and communication skills, as well as comfortable working in a fast-paced and dynamic workplace. 2+ years’ working experience as a legal assistant is preferred. Experience in civil litigation a plus. Excellent interpersonal and communication skill is essential. Must have 2- year degree or equivalent certification, 4- year degree is a plus. Knowledge of Abacus calendaring system is a plus.
