Immigration Legal Practice Assistant The candidate reviews and routes incoming mail and fax communications. Prepares and processes outgoing mail and faxes, arranging for specialized mail or messenger services as required. Maintains and updates the calendars for assigned attorneys, including meetings, appointments, due dates, and client-related activities. Maintains paper and electronic files in compliance with internal policies. Prepares time entries for assigned attorneys and submits in a timely manner. Prepares expense reimbursement and disbursement requests. Prepares billing letters and coordinates client billing matters with the Billing Department in Greenville. Provides General Administrative Support. Should have 4+ years of experience as a practice assistant or legal secretary; Knowledge of legal terminology, legal documents and legal processes; Accurate typing of at least 70 words per minute; Strong computer proficiency in the use of MS Office, document management, time entry, e-filing and database software. Excellent communication skills, written and verbal is essential. Must have understanding of correct grammar, spelling and punctuation. Should have strong proofreading skills

I would like to see better management put into place so that the work load is better balanced throughout the weeks and the months. This way there is always work to be done without being overwhelmed.

Pros : The starting pay is excellent and the benefits (such as 401K) are top notch. I also found everyone to be very helpful and the work environment was very laid back.
Cons : The overall work load on a day to day basis had too much variance. On some days I would have to work well past my normal hours into the night. During other day's I was left with nothing to do.
