ProfilePrivacy Lawyer Duties: Supporting the operationalizing of GDPR readiness and other privacy and data protection initiatives and requirements by providing guidance and facilitating development of tools, policies and procedures and working directly with global impacted teams; Working with global transactional attorneys on the legal team to facilitate the negotiation of privacy and security terms with customers and suppliers by providing templates and playbooks, contract reviews and support in negotiations; Updating privacy policies, negotiating and drafting master services agreements in accordance with global privacy requirements and providing support to the development of guidelines, training and tools to support privacy accountability and compliance; and Providing legal advice and practical business guidance to all levels of management and employees on matters related to privacy, data protection and other compliance matters.
Qualification and Experience
Qualifications: Substantive data protection and data privacy experience and an in-depth knowledge of U.S. and International privacy statutes and regulations, including GLBA, HIPAA and GDPR; Experience drafting policies and guidance documentation, developing and conducting training programs and undertaking compliance investigations; Team work and ability to work in cross-functional teams and manage a number of projects under tight deadlines; Excellent written and verbal communications skills; 3+ years of relevant privacy experience as an associate in a top-tier law firm; In-House experience a plus but not required; Part-time candidates will be considered; and Qualified to practice law in at least one state, preferably Massachusetts, with a law degree from a reputable law school.
