Associate General Counsel - Antitrust & Commercial/Transactional
Responsibilities: Provide antitrust guidance and advice to the business and assist with ongoing antitrust compliance program. Manage projects and transactions and represent JM in negotiating and drafting agreements and varied business transactions. Provide legal support to Global Procurement & Logistics team regarding the purchase or goods and services. Foster and develop internal customer relationships with senior executive leadership, becoming a proactive member of the business team who can provide legal positions and support that creates a competitive advantage whenever possible. Communicate and understand a wide variety of legal and business issues; provide legal advice and counsel that consistently enhances the Company’s ability to formulate business direction and strategy. Understand the needs of the business and act as a partner in solving problems. Assist the business leaders in investigation of incidents which might give rise to claims, advise on legal liability and negotiate claims or settlements. Make recommendations to the Vice President and General Counsel regarding antitrust compliance and the potential resolution of projects and transactions, including potential settlements and the initiation of legal proceedings against others. Supervise the Company’s outside commercial and transactional counsel. Conduct training for employees on relevant legal topics, including compliance with antitrust, anti-corruption,trade and data privacy laws. Actively participate in JM internal and external events. Qualification and Experience

Qualifications: JD Degree from an accredited law school and membership in the Bar of at least one state. 15+ years of antitrust compliance and transactional experience. 5+ years of experience working in a large law firm, preferably national or international. 5+ years of experience working in a commercial/transactional in-house legal department. Ability to work effectively on multiple projects with multiple teams. Ability to function effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. Good business acumen (e.g., knowledge of basic financial information). Ability to influence senior and executive leaders.
Additional consideration given to those with the following experience: trade compliance, international transactions, data privacy, M&A and real estate.
