Profile

General Attorney The candidate will be responsible for all of the legal affairs of the firm's. Supervises the Office of General Counsel, which has 300 employees and handles the entire range of legal matters involving the firm's, including national security, criminal, science and technology, cyber, privacy and civil liberties, fiscal and contract law, civil litigation, and eDiscovery. Program manager for the Chief Division Counsel (CDC) Program. Interacts regularly with all of the elements of the firm's, the Justice Department, the U.S. Intelligence Community, a range of other government agencies, foreign partners, the private sector, and civil society groups. Assist the General Counsel in executing all legal responsibilities.

Qualification and Experience

Qualifications: For GS-13: Must have effectively identifies and appropriately involves the right people in work activities, ensuring that they are well informed of progress, problems, and changes in work activities to help facilitate the accomplishment of branch goals. Demonstrate a solid understanding of guidelines, policies, and procedures; conscientiously and correctly follows and help others to follow relevant guidelines is required. Should have capably analyzes straightforward and complex information and consistently draws insightful, appropriate conclusions and findings. Must also have 1.5+ years’ post J.D. attorney experience.

For GS-14: Effectively leads or contributes to group problem-solving efforts by providing high quality ideas and effective solutions, even for unusual or difficult problems. Identifies new or more efficient methods to produce complete, accurate, and superior quality work; give guidance to others on identifying new and more efficient methods. Communicates persuasively about programs, projects, and proposals; anticipates and identifies potential criticisms and effectively uses facts, data, and logical arguments to persuade others to a point of view or negotiate with them to achieve objectives. Must also have 2.5+ years post J.D. attorney experience.

For GS-15: Assist the General Counsel in prioritizing and responding promptly to requests for legal and policy advice. Review and synthesize legal memoranda and other legal documents on relevant topics transmitted to the General Counsel. Advise stakeholders verbally and in writing on legal and policy issues relating to a wide range of subject matters on behalf of the General Counsel. Brief firm's executive management on legal and policy conclusions derived from comprehensive legal and other research. Act as a liaison for the General Counsel with various partners within the firm's and across the government. Must also have 4+ years of post J.D. attorney experience.

Must be a U.S. citizen. Must be able to obtain a Top-Secret/SCI clearance. Must have complete form FD-887, Request for Access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI). Should have complete a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, OGE-450 annually. Must possess a law degree from a law school accredited by the American Bar Association, and be an active member of the bar (any US jurisdiction). Must possess a J.D. degree from a law school accredited by the American Bar Association (or have a LLM degree or other graduate law degree in addition to a J.D.) and be an active member of the bar (any US jurisdiction).
