Administrative Services Specialist - GS 11 – 12 The candidate typical work assignments will include: Analyzing support services processes and procedures for the office. Making purchases within delegated authority and maintaining records related to purchases. Maintaining property records, oversee property inventory and disposing of excess property. Ordering and coordinating building services. Projecting and analyzing space and office furnishing needs. Determining, distributing, and maintaining appropriate stock levels. Overseeing the distribution mail, packages and the receptionist area for the office. Preparing a variety of reports. Responsibilities will increase and assignments will become more complex as training and experience progress.
Qualification and Experience
The candidate should have following qualifications: Must be able to attain and retain at least a level 1 (one) Federal Acquisitions Certification in Contracting (FAC-C) as a federal contracting professional. FAC-C has specific training requirements with some courses online as well as classroom courses. To maintain a FAC-C, contract professionals are required to meet the continuous training requirement. To meet FAC-C requirements: A 4 year course of study leading to a bachelor's degree with major in any field. or 24 semester hours in any combination of the following fields: accounting, business, finance, law, contracts, purchasing, economics, industrial management, marketing, quantitative methods, or organization and management. GS-11: To be eligible at the GS-11 level, must have 1 year of specialized experience at the GS-9 level in Federal Service, Education, OR a Combination of Education and Experience. Specialized Experience: 1 year of specialized experience at the GS-9 level. Specialized experience is defined as experience performing duties such as making purchases, monitoring contracts, maintaining property inventory, managing supply levels, and inputting purchase information into a centralized system for an organization, analyzing and evaluating office systems to ensure efficiency and maintaining property records for an organization Education: One of the following types of education in a closely related field (e.g., Accounting, Financial Management, Public Administration, or Business Administration): an LL.M, a PH.D or equivalent doctoral degree OR 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree. Education is related and demonstrates the knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to perform the duties of the position. Combination of Education and Experience: Must have combination of specialized experience as described in A and education as described in B which when combined equal 100% of the requirements. In order to qualify based on a combination, graduate education must be in excess of 2 full years. To calculate percentage of graduate education, first determine the total number of graduate hours that exceed 36 semester hours (or school's definition of two years of graduate study), then divide the total number of excess graduate semester hours by 18 (or school's definition of one year of study). GS-12: To be eligible at the GS-12 level, Must have 1 year of specialized experience at the GS-11 level in Federal Service. Specialized experience: Specialized experience is defined as duties applying a wide range of analytical methods to analyze support services requirements, space requirements, and other administrative and support services needs of an office; organizing, planning, and formulating administrative work operations and policy; providing administrative support services in areas to include contracting and procurement of services, supplies, and equipment; analysis of support services and space requirements; internal controls, and mail..
