Bilingual Attorney The candidate will litigate and advocate on behalf of low-income immigrants primarily in the areas of civil rights, immigration, and employment law. Will also lead state- and local-level legislative and administrative policy advocacy campaigns for immigrants’ rights. Must have a demonstrated commitment to social justice and immigrants’ rights. Must have Spanish language fluency, sufficient to handle cases on behalf of monolingual Spanish-speaking immigrants without assistance of an interpreter. Must have Membership in the Virginia bar, a pending application for the July 2018 Virginia Bar exam, or confirmed eligibility to waive in immediately. Must have experience working for a public interest law firm, legal services organization, law school clinic, or other nonprofit as an attorney or in a pro bono capacity. Must have outstanding communication skills; and An ability to balance a variety of responsibilities with a healthy sense of humor.
