Summer Workplace Programs Advocacy Internship The intern will work on challenging projects across the National Partnership's workplace policy agenda, including paid sick days, paid family leave, workplace flexibility, fair pay, pregnancy discrimination and more. Interns are integrally involved in day-to-day work, and undertake a wide range of activities. Activities will help interns develop skills needed for work in the policy and advocacy world, including legislative and policy research, analysis, writing for a variety of audiences, and coalition-building. Interns will also have the opportunity to attend briefings, hearings, and other events on Capitol Hill and in other venues around town. Law students are considered. Qualifications include strong interpersonal, writing, and computer skills; the ability to manage multiple tasks and take initiative; ability to work independently and a significant degree of organization. Knowledge of MS Access a plus. Preference will be given to interns with experience and demonstrated interest or academic studies in political science, public policy and/or women's issues.
