Business Development Lead The candidate will work as part of corporate business development team and will report to the Associate Lab Director for Innovation, Partnership and Outreach. Will work as part of a team with Sector and Directorate Partnership Development Managers to accomplish the business development goals of the laboratory. Identify opportunities by researching industry sources, attending events, tracking prospective markets, customers and competitors. Provide qualification recommendations based on DOE mission and directorate strategies, market impact and financial costs and benefits. Develop successful capture strategies. Work closely with domain experts to develop compelling solutions that partners are able to easily understand and sell internally. Assess and manage ongoing uncertainty (risk) of successful capture. Help partners understand how to work and contract with a national lab including supporting their efforts to sell the solution internally. Report progress and ensure the accuracy of the opportunity record in the CRM system. Proactively manage the allocated time of domain experts. Should have experience managing capture or business development teams. Should have relevant Bachelor's Degree and 14+ or years of experience or equivalent relevant education/experience. Or, relevant Master's Degree and 12+ or years of experience or equivalent relevant education/experience. Or, relevant PhD and 9 or more years of experience or equivalent relevant education/experience. Or, relevant JD and 9 or more years of experience or equivalent relevant education/experience. Applies advanced technical principles, theories and concepts. Contributes to the development of new principles and concepts. Develops advanced concepts, techniques and standards. Develops new applications based on professional principles and theories. Viewed externally as subject matter expert in field. Comprehensive and advanced knowledge of laws, regulations, principles, procedures and practices related to specific field. Superior leadership, project management and problem solving skills. Ability to use various computer software programs. Should preferably have previous business development or project experience in a government or research lab environment. Previous experience using CRM solutions.
