Paralegal - Franchise Transactions The candidate will maintain the master compliance database, and should expect to correspond and be in regular communication with franchisees and vendors as well as internal departments to ensure compliance within the franchise network as well as with internal departments while supporting key timelines and transaction deliverables. The ability to be flexible, organized, and deal with shifting priorities and deadlines, while producing accurate and timely work is essential. Develop a comprehensive understanding of the operational requirements throughout the franchise network and provide support on that understanding within the Legal Department and internal departments while maintaining strong organizational skills, logical reasoning, writing and legal drafting skills to efficiently and accurately execute a high volume of documentation, communication and correspondence. Maintain the master compliance database and demonstrate an ability to understand, explain and support compliance and operational procedures including the processes around escalation of compliance matters, legal or operational programs, and support of internal department initiatives. Accurately and efficiently process compliance matters; draft and process various compliance emails and letters, which may including terminations, transactions related to compliance matters, settlement agreements, demand letters and other miscellaneous documents. Assist with ideas for streamlining and improving efficiency of compliance process and handling. Utilize strong organization skills and keen attention to detail to manage multiple, concurrent transactions in a fast-paced environment. Assist with preparing the annual Franchise Disclosure Document and any supplements or amendments and amendments. Clearly explain and assist with the compliance, termination, and consolidation process for independent franchise owners and any other relevant parties. Support internal compliance matters, including corporate governance, assistance in discovery, and inter-departmental support and guidance. Provide well-drafted and thorough communications and transactional documents. Live the brand purpose and values every day in assisting franchisees with challenges and problem resolution . Oversee and organize the compliance database and track all compliance issues - assisting with franchisee owner compliance and accountability. Paralegal certification is essential. Should preferably have 2-5 years of experience in a fast-paced corporate or legal environment; franchise, corporate, contract or transactional experience. Experience in CRM, Millennium, and general database management systems are desired.
