International Tax Manager The candidate provide tax advisory and controversy support services across the globe. This role will report to a Director of tax advisory and controversy. Will have the opportunity to interact with a team of tax professionals who enjoy providing critical services in a great company. Identify and resolve tax matters associated with business initiatives and day to day business operations, including tax impacts of entering into new markets and cross-border transactions involving multiple tax jurisdictions. Actively communicate with tax department colleagues and with business leaders and colleagues in finance, legal, treasury, and other functions to provide tax guidance and tax efficient solutions. This includes: Researching international tax matters, such as those involving U.S. Subpart F, earnings and profits, and foreign tax credit considerations, treaty related issues, permanent establishment rules and risks, transfer pricing, withholding, VAT and other taxes. Collaborating with business leaders and functional colleagues to develop business cases that align tax strategies and business objectives. Working with outside tax advisors, as needed. Reviewing contracts and other documents and providing tax-related input. Provide controversy support as it relates to tax audits (international, federal, and state) either internally or working directly with outside advisors. Assist in the design, implementation, and ongoing management of companyâ€™s corporate structure and related intercompany transactions. Proactively monitor both pending and enacted legislation and communicate the impact to company, considering both the global tax position and the local business operations. Manage special projects from time to time, such as mergers and acquisitions (including due diligence), financing structures, and business/entity integration, formation, and dissolution.
Qualification and Experience
The candidate should have Law degree, CPA or equivalent. Should have solid understanding of U.S. taxation of international operations and transactions, and U.S. tax planning for foreign operations, including foreign tax credits, Subpart F income and transfer pricing. Must have 6+ years combined experience within the tax function of a global corporation, large public accounting firm and/or law firm. Should have Significant experience (2-4) years in international tax advising/planning and compliance for one or more U.S.-based, multinational companies. Must have some knowledge of US GAAP tax accounting rules. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to frame tax issues for diverse stakeholders are needed. Should have ability to manage and ensure completion of multiple projects across time zones through coordination of external advisors, financial auditors and tax authorities.
