Assistant Federal Public Defender The candidate work in the Trial Unit. The Trial Unit represents indigent persons charged with criminal offenses in the United States District Court and provides appellate representation in the Circuit Court of Appeals. Applicants must have substantial criminal trial experience, more than five years preferred, as well as excellent oral advocacy, legal research and writing skills. A working knowledge of the Federal Sentencing Guidelines is a plus. Should expect to defend the full range of federal criminal offenses, including violent, child pornography, white collar and immiration crimes. The position requires travel for litigation and investigation. Applicants must be members in good standing of a state bar.
