The ideal candidate will bring both a strong foundation in merger compliance and transactional counseling and the ability to provide insightful, strategic guidance in complex legal matters.

Duties

  • Conduct thorough assessments for antitrust audits and compliance programs.
  • Provide counsel on antitrust and competition law, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
  • Represent clients in antitrust litigation, including class actions, government investigations, and debarment proceedings.
  • Assist with international and cross-border antitrust matters, such as EU regulations, international trade, and state aid within the EU.
  • Engage in high-stakes investigations involving grand juries, criminal prosecutions, and international cartels.
  • Support merger and acquisition transactions with antitrust risk assessments and compliance strategies.
  • Contribute to private treble damage litigation cases on behalf of clients.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of experience in antitrust law with a focus on M&A, HSR, merger compliance, and transactional counseling.
  • Prior experience in premerger processes is crucial for this role.
  • Proven record of excellence in drafting and research; large firm or relevant government agency experience preferred.
  • Federal clerkship experience is highly valued.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
  • Strong academic background with high academic credentials.

Certifications

  • Admission to the Illinois Bar or eligibility to waive in.
